Rudolf O. Schmid

Rudolf O. Schmid - Lüchinger+Schmid AG , Switzerland

I joined the IEC many years ago when IEC was a purely producer driven organization. As egg products became more and more important, the egg processors section (EPI) was founded.
Today the IEC is the platform for the egg world, producers - traders - processors - allied industries.

IEC Membership and Conference offer a wonderful opportunity to meet people from the industry, learn about the latest market developments and make friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
In addition, the IEC enables me to learn more about marketing issues in the egg industry and gives me an idea of where the market is moving in the long run.

The value of the IEC in business is the professionalism of the IEC in supporting and promoting the international egg industry.

I have had the opportunity to meet some of the brightest and most innovative minds in the worldwide egg industry.

I have found members of the IEC community to be very generous with their time and knowledge. I have made many valuable friends from all around the world. By attending the IEC conferences, I am kept up to date with the latest developments in nutrition, optimal farming methods and marketing concepts. I feel very fortunate to be part of the friendship that is the IEC family.

Tage Lysgaard - The Danish Poultry Coucil, Denmark

I have always supported the IEC as I find that exchange of views and knowledge regarding the conditions of one’s competitors and colleagues is of vital importance to creating a level playing field and acceptable conditions for the industry. In my view the IEC is even more important today than it was at the time of its establishment, as the world is becoming one big market.

Being an IEC member gives me the opportunity to meet people with a generic interest or involvement in the egg industry world wide, and the opportunity to have reciprocal visits to businesses and homes, especially when visiting China.

I joined the IEC to meet like minded colleagues who had a passion for the egg market. A network of friends who face similar but differing challenges within the business of egg marketing, production and processing. The IEC is a worldwide group of friends who are always ready to help each other.

I joined the IEC in the sixties when Dr Garrelds was president.  Thanks to the IEC I multiplied my relations in the industry world-wide.  It is not just business, you make real friends with a common interest.
