International Young Egg Leaders programme open for applications

27 July 2023

Applications are now open for the 2024-2025 Young Egg Leaders (YEL) programme, a global initiative from the International Egg Commission (IEC) to support the next generation of egg business leaders.

The two-year programme is designed for successful individuals within egg producing and processing companies on a clear trajectory to a senior leadership position.

“This unique initiative exists to develop, inspire and equip the next generation of egg industry leaders, and ultimately support the continual growth of the global egg industry,” said IEC Chairman, Greg Hinton. “Our Young Egg Leaders benefit from exclusive industry visits and unmatched networking opportunities, with collaboration and growth at the heart of the programme.”

Admission is selective and is based on professional achievements, proven trajectory and personal credentials and motivation. The new group of successful candidates will begin their YEL programme in April 2024, ahead of the IEC Business Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland.

“Incoming YELs will get to shape and influence what their programme looks like, to allow them to get the most out of their experience,” said Mr Hinton. “If you are a motivated individual in an existing senior role within your organisation, we would love to hear from you.”

Participants are able to complete the programme alongside their existing professional roles, with YEL activities and experiences organised to coincide with the two annual IEC conferences, typically taking place in April and September.

Candidates can apply personally or be nominated by an existing IEC member for each two-year programme.

Current Young Egg Leader, Michael Griffiths of Oaklands Farm Eggs, said: “The YEL programme offers a transformative experience that equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and connections necessary to thrive as leaders in the egg industry and beyond.”

The deadline for this programme’s applications is 30 November 2023. Visit the official YEL page for more information: https://www.worldeggorganisation.com/our-work/young-egg-leaders
