The Golden Egg Award for Marketing Excellence
There are many incredible marketing campaigns being delivered across our global industry, and the Golden Egg Award provides a fantastic opportunity to promote egg marketing excellence and share best practice.
Open to country associations and companies, this award provides a chance to showcase your efforts and success in front a global delegation, with a 10-minute presentation at our Global Leadership Conference in September.
The winner will be the presentation that demonstrates the best marketing & promotional campaign submitted, based on any or all parts of the marketing spectrum, including advertising, public relations, new media and point of sale.

Eligibility
WEO Country Associations, Producer Packer, and Egg Processing Companies are invited to submit their entries for this award. All entrants must be paid-up members of the WEO for that competition year.
Application Process
Applicants MUST deliver a 10-minute audio visual presentation at the Marketing Showcase during the WEO Global Leadership Conference in September, showcasing their marketing programme and reviewing their egg marketing strategy.
In order to make this event enjoyable and informative, it is important to remember that the presentations should not be a speech but a visual representation of your marketing programme.
Judging Criteria
Presentations will be judged on the following criteria, scoring between 0 (minimum) and 10 (maximum) points per category:
- Results / return on investment – including impact on egg consumption
- Strategy
- Product (assortment, availability, quality)
- Promotion of Product / Business
- Creativity / Innovation
- Degree of difficulty
- Any obstacles needed to overcome
- A new product launch over a product extension
- The degree of risk
Presentations will only be judged on the first 10 minutes. Any information presented after this time will not be taken into consideration by the judges and may be stopped by the Chair.
Judging Panel
The awards will be judged by a panel nominated by the WEO Chair and will consist of 5 WEO members.
The winner of the award should not be a current member of the judging panel.
The decision of the judges is final.
Announcement and Presentation of the Award
The winner will be announced and awarded at the WEO Global Leadership Conference in September.
